UK Alliance event

The UK Alliance for Investing in Children has recently published the report ‘Breaking the Cycle of Disadvantage’  outlining the principle legislation, policies and programmes for tackling child poverty in the four nations that comprise the United Kingdom (UK), namely England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales.

The report contextualises the four nations against the poverty target within the Europe 2020 framework and the European Commission (EC) Recommendation on Investing in Children: Breaking the Cycle of Disadvantage. It also provides some examples of best practice from across the four nations as case studies, so these can be shared by partners across the UK.

The publication provides an overview of key policy, strategy and priorities across the UK and each of the four nations. It gives as well, through identification of good practice case studies, an opportunity to share good practice and learn from the experiences of others in terms of what works well and what does not and where the challenges are and how can these be overcome.

Report available here.

The UK Alliance has also made available papers from the conference held in December 2014 and Children’s animation films
